Walk! Bike! Fun! Curriculum Training – Walker

September 18, 2018 @ 7:45 am - 4:00 pm

Many communities and schools are joining in the movement for more walking and biking as a part of active transportation. To support this movement, the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota announces the new Minnesota Walk! Bike! Fun! Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Curriculum.

The new Walk! Bike! Fun! curriculum is written to encourage more children to walk or bike to school and throughout the community by providing schools with tools to teach safe walking and biking. This curriculum is designed for physical education, health teachers, and other educators to use to engage students in a thoughtful, fun and interactive program to learn safety tips and skills that will last them a lifetime.

BikeMN will hold a training to prepare educators for implementing this exciting new curriculum. By invitation only, schools and communities that currently have MnDOT Safe Routes to School grants, MDH Community Transformation or Statewide Health Improvement Program grants are given priority for the training. Participation may also be possible for schools that have previously had SRTS grants if space allows.

This free training is being held in Walker from 8:00 am – 4:00 p.m. with lunch provided. Bikes and helmets will be used during the training. Educators will receive CEUs and the curriculum.

PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE TRAINING HERE.
