ABOUT THE LAB
An early impact on our youth can be felt for generations. The Spark-Y Urban Ag. Lab is an innovative social entrepreneurship initiative that is fueling youth leadership and a sustainable future here in the Twin Cities. The Spark-Y Urban Ag. Lab is the pilot facility for educating youth while growing clean healthy food for the community. Using sustainability and entrepreneurship in action, this facility was built by Spark-Y staff, youth from our programs, and community volunteers at break neck pace over the past two months. At launch, it will be providing healthy, aquaponically-grown food in the form of micro-greens, lettuce, strawberries and more to local restaurants; a job pathway and field trip for our youth school programs, and offer community agro-tours and workshops!
