Garlic Mustard Removal at Pine Bend Bluffs

May 2, 2013 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Volunteer with Friends of the Mississippi River to assist with critical habitat restoration work in Pine Bend Bluffs SNA, one of the most beautiful areas in the Upper Mississippi River Basin. An FMR Ecologist will train volunteers to identify and easily remove garlic mustard, an exotic plant that outcompetes native plants for nutrients, light and space. Removing these weedy species will help to enhance Pine Bend’s ecological integrity and protect its threatened native plant species. Many birds and other wildlife rely upon native plants for much-needed habitat. Gloves, tools and guidance will be provided at the event.

Preregistration is required. To preregister, please contact FMR Event Registrar Lindsay Hefferan at lhefferan@fmr.org or 651-222-2193 x24.
