The Canadian Consulate General in Minneapolis will host a half-day forum on the environmental threats facing Lake Winnipeg, the north-flowing Red River and all the waters that drain into them. The forum at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Institute in Minneapolis is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The forum is titled “Shared Waters/Shared Responsibility: Working Across Borders to Protect and Restore Lake Winnipeg and the Red River Basin.” Other sponsors of the event include: The Freshwater Society, the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, the University of Minnesota’s Water Resources Center, the Province of Manitoba, Environment Canada and the Minnesota International Center.
