State leaders want to hear from you about the future of Minnesota’s environment!

The Environmental Quality Board, one of Minnesota’s most influential environmental governing organizations, is hosting a Citizen Forum in St. Cloud on December 12—this is rare opportunity for citizens to have their voices heard by commissioners from nine state agencies involved in Minnesota’s environment.

The forum is from 5:30 – 8 p.m. at Atwood Center at St. Cloud State University.

As you know, this is a critical time for Minnesota’s environment, the health of our communities, and our energy future.

• We need to chart a sustainable energy future and move forward to secure a 10% by 2030 solar energy standard;
• We need to protect land, waterways, and communities from the destruction of toxic sulfide mining;
• We need more effective measures to reduce pollution from industrial agriculture that causes poor water quality in many of our waterways; and
• We need to make smart investments in Minnesota’s transit system.

We know that other voices have been pushing our leaders for weaker environmental standards, fewer opportunities for public involvement, and greater access to log, mine and lease our Great Outdoors.
