Act now! Tell your legislators: no rollbacks on dirty coal

Posted March 1st, 2011 by Minnesota Environmental Partnership.

Keep Minnesota moving forward on clean energy

Go here to take action now!

In 2007, Minnesota legislators were right to require any new coal plant to offset the additional carbon pollution with an equal amount of reduced carbon pollution in other projects. State law has been moving Minnesota forward on clean energy while preventing backsliding from new investments in dirty coal. Now, big utility lobbyists are pushing to remove that requirement and allow more coal pollution in Minnesota.

Minnesota should protect current state law that encourages investments in clean energy. We need to make sure our legislators keep Minnesota on the clean energy path and oppose rollbacks that would allow more dirty coal power.

Tell your legislators to keep Minnesota moving forward on clean energy by voting “no” on legislation to allow more dirty coal. (Senate File 86 and House File 72)
