Last week the Minnesota Environmental Partnership board officially welcomed three new organizations to the partnership.  Check them out:

Renewing the Countryside

Renewing the Countryside strengthens rural areas by championing and supporting rural communities, farmers, artists, entrepreneurs, educators, activists and other people who are renewing the countryside through sustainable and innovative initiatives, businesses and projects. We do this by sharing stories of rural renewal, building awareness and support for sustainable endeavors, connecting people interested in sustainable rural development, providing practical assistance and networking opportunities for those working to improve rural America, and fostering connections between urban and rural people.

U.S. Public Interest Research Group

U.S. Public Interest Research Group (U.S. PIRG) is an advocate for the public interest. When consumers are cheated, or our natural environment is threatened, or the voices of ordinary citizens are drowned out by special interest lobbyists, U.S. PIRG speaks up and takes action.

Will Steger Foundation

The Will Steger Foundation is dedicated to creating programs which foster international leadership and cooperation through environmental education and policy. The Foundation’s first initiative, Global Warming 101, raises broad public awareness about global warming as witnessed through Will Steger’s polar expeditions; educates about the effects of human actions upon the global climate; and empowers individual choices and grassroots efforts that lead to massive institutional reform and technological innovation.
