The U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management are holding an official public listening session at the Virginia High School (Auditorium) from 5:00-7:30 p.m (doors at 4:30 p.m.). This is our chance to make our voices heard and to show federal agencies that the watershed of the Boundary Waters is the wrong place for sulfide-ore copper mining.
We need to YOU to speak up for this quiet place.
The Listening Session gives federal agencies the opportunity to listen to public concern on the record. Those who want to speak will be chosen that day through a lottery system, allotting three minutes per person. We hope to hear from a large number of Boundary Waters supporters and clean water advocates!
We need you to join us in Virginia, Minnesota the evening of July 25 to protect the Boundary Waters from America’s most toxic industry. We will be providing transportation! Please sign up to speak or ride the bus from Duluth using this form: https://docs.google.com/a/
We will continue updating this page with tips for getting to the event, info on submitting your name to speak and how you can continue showing your support for the BWCA.
