Dave Zentner will present a program on the exciting Upper Mississippi River Initiative which involves Izaak Walton League Chapters in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois in cleaning up the Mississippi River and its tributaries. UMRI is a grassroots effort to monitor and improve water quality, promote sustainable farming approaches, and educate landowners about making conservation part of their contracts with operators. Dave Zentner is Minnesota’s leading conservationist, former President of the National Izaak Walton League, author of the RIM (Reinvest in Minnesota) legislation, helped found Voyageurs National Park, and he was a driving force in the passage of Minnesota’s 2008 Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment.
