River People: North Shore Stream Stewardship Conference

May 18, 2013 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$10

Do you have a favorite North Shore river? Maybe you live on it. Maybe you fish in it or kayak down it. Maybe it flows into your part of the Lake Superior shoreline.

You’re not alone. Other people care for your river too. But North Shore rivers need help.

  • Overdevelopment threatens water quality.
  • Native fishes have been pushed aside by exotic species.
  • Climate change and forest decline are warming our streams and even drying them out.
  • Clay banks continue to slump into the streams and muddy the waters.

This workshop is planned to help landowners and other North Shore citizens become better stewards of their streams. You can learn:

  • How to rally your neighbors for planting trees.
  • How to advocate for stream restoration projects.
  • How North Shore rivers work

Registration is now closed.
