Protecting Sacred & Precious Places: Copper Mining in Arizona & Minnesota

March 26, 2015 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Northern Sun Merchandising and Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness for an evening of conversation about how to protect sacred and precious places from the threat posed by copper mining proposals.

We’ll hear from Roger Featherstone, Director of the Arizona Mining Reform Coalition about the fight to protect Oak Flat in Arizona from the proposed Resolution copper mine. Aaron Klemz from Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness will update folks about the PolyMet and Twin Metals sulfide mine proposals in northeastern Minnesota. In both cases, you’ll learn about actions you can take to protect these sacred and precious places that are threatened.

Admission is free (donations accepted) and light refreshments will be provided. You also will have the option of ordering dinner from one of the best Indian restaurants in Minnesota. Click the button below to RSVP and get your free ticket to the event.
