Policy Forum: Addressing Barriers to Community Solar

October 27, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

$30 – $60

In 2013, the state of Minnesota passed legislation to enable community solar garden programs. Minnesota’s solar laws put us at the forefront of states wrestling with how to best make community solar broadly accessible, financeable, and compatible with other state and local policy goals. In the past three years, we’ve learned a great deal about how to more effectively and efficiently deploy community solar on the distribution system. However, we continue to grapple with and refine the implementation as we work to address consumer demand for solar.

Participants in this event will explore lessons learned from the implementation of Minnesota’s community solar garden programs and ways to address economic and regulatory barriers to more wide-spread community solar deployment. More information and registration here »

Registration will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, or as space allows.

For questions about the program or to inquire about a need-based scholarship, contact Andrea Robbins at 612-334-3388 ext. 8110. Scholarships are intended for students, those experiencing financial hardship, or individuals attending independent of their employer.
