Info session and film about Keystone XL pipeline

February 7, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On Thursday evening February 7 at 7 pm at Southdale Library in Edina, the Climate SOS Film series will present a program of information about the controversial KeystoneXL pipeline. The program will begin with the showing of the film “Pipe Dreams”.  The film traces the history and motivations behind the pipeline and examines its projected impact.  Through interviews with oil industry officials and government officials, landowners and environmentalists, the film presents the hot issue of whether the pipeline should be approved or denied: its alleged contribution to economic growth and jobs versus its potential to create environmental disaster.

After the movie, energy analyst Paul Blackburn will present information about oil pipeline issues.  And, there will be a display of photographs of  environmental impacts of the Alberta Tar Sands.
