This year, Minnesota passed a groundbreaking law for environmental justice that requires the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to conduct a cumulative impacts analysis for polluting facilities in or near marginalized communities. The purpose of this law is to protect our communities’ health from existing pollution and prevent new pollution that makes our neighbors sick.

The MPCA is seeking public comments for the beginning of the rulemaking process for the new law. This is the first opportunity to provide your input on how the ideas and values in the bill become real to protect our neighbors’ health and well-being.

Please join us for this in person community reception from 5-6 pm at Duluth Grill, before the MPCA holds its community input meeting at Clyde Iron Works starts at 6, to connect with people in your community, learn more about the Cumulative Impacts Law, and share your thoughts.

There will be food and beverages provided, and we’ll be walking together to Clyde Iron Works after the reception.
