Statewide Conservation Plan Comment Opportunity

Posted by .

The 2006 legislature allocated money for the creation of a “Comprehensive Statewide Conservation and Preservation Plan.”  To facilitate who will get to create this plan, a Request for Proposals (RFP) has been drafted by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).  They are taking public comments on the draft RFP for the next two weeks and they welcome your input.  Details below.

Here is their announcement:

In order to get the best possible plan and the best possible team to prepare the plan the attached draft of the RFP is being posted for comment before the RFP is issued. The draft RFP will be posted for approximately two weeks. Please provide comments by September 26, 2006. Comments will be reviewed and shared with the commission for their consideration. Comments could potentially lead to modification of the RFP before it is issued.

Around the 1st of October the LCCMR is planning to issue a request for proposal (RFP) for a team of professionals to prepare the comprehensive statewide conservation and preservation plan.

Once a team has been selected to develop the plan, the LCCMR and the team will solicit comments and other input throughout the process of developing the plan. Preliminary results of the planning effort are due June 2007 with final results due June 2008.

Please provide comments to Michael McDonough, LCCMR Planning and Research Manager – michael.mcdonough@lccmr.leg.mn. 651 296-2443.
