Last week, we were fortunate to have a meeting for our member organizations with U.S. Representative Betty McCollum. We had more than 40 people in attendance, representing two dozen organizations. Thanks to our members who participated!
Congresswoman McCollum (who represents Minnesota’s 4th district) provided some great insight into the federal budget through her work on the House Appropriations and Budget Committees. She further discussed her new position as the second-ranking Democrat on the Interior and Environment Subcommittee. Our members asked questions and were able to talk with her about what’s ahead for the Environmental Protection Agency, the Great Lakes and other important environmental issues.
Hearing Congresswoman McCollum’s perspective on various topics was very helpful to our members, and we look forward to another visit with her soon!
