Organics Recycling: A Growing Movement

June 23, 2015 @ 7:30 am - 12:00 pm

$60

With nearly a third of the material Minnesotans send to landfills consisting of organic material (food waste and non-recyclable paper), savvy businesses across the state are thinking critically about managing their organics.

In this session we’ll demystify the growing movement of organics recycling for compost. We’ll explore food waste reduction strategies, emerging policy issues that may affect your business, and hear local case studies of proven organics collection and management methods.

As the organics journey doesn’t stop at your collection site, we’ll dive into the downstream journey of organics highlighting perspectives from waste haulers, organics processing facilities, and exploring compost end market supply and demand.

Join our cross-sector community of sustainability professionals for informal networking, small group discussion, and peer-to-peer learning to help you imagine implementing organics recycling at your organization.
