Who Pays? 500 Years of Pollution for 20 Years of Jobs?

February 23, 2014 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Free

Come join us as we watch Precious Waters, a film that takes a hard look at the sulfide mining industry’s history and the threats new mines pose to northeastern Minnesota’s lakes, rivers and streams, and sustainable economy–as told by a broad array of citizens, scientists, and advocates. After the film you may stick around to get involved in a discussion with Betsy Daub, Policy Director at the Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness. Share what the production of this mine means to you, your loved ones and neighbors. Whether you go camping, have a cabin up north, love the Boundary Waters and Great North Woods Area, or are concerned about 500 years of water pollution and your resulting  taxes, this is the time to get answers and consider whether you want to speak out before the public comment period closes on March 13th.

This event is FREE and open to all new-comers! Light refreshments will be provided at 11:00.
