Annual Salary Range: $51,551.94 – $77,976.93
Ramsey Washington Recycling & Energy (R&E) is searching for a Program Assistant to support waste recovery programs within the two counties.
R&E is a joint powers entity formed by Ramsey and Washington Counties. R&E coordinates recycling and waste programs between the two counties and owns and operates the R&E Center in Newport, Minnesota. R&E’s vision is vibrant, healthy communities without waste. R&E accomplishes its mission through partnerships and innovation.
This position reports to a staff person within the programs department of R&E. This position will provide support to program staff on the management and administration of R&E programs, with priority focus on the Food Scraps Pickup Program (FSPP). This position is a support role with administrative duties.
This is nonexempt work which may include, but is not limited to, the following work examples:
- Support the administration of FSPP and corresponding projects
- Support other R&E programs and projects, as necessary
- Collect, organize, and analyze program data, metrics and other information
- Provide customer service assistance by responding to phone and email inquiries
- Organize, coordinate and participate in community engagement activities and other events
- Assist with the development, coordination, and delivery of program reporting and presentations
- Provide support to outreach and communication efforts, including website maintenance and asset management
- Assist with work coordination between program staff and contracted vendors
- Schedule and coordinate meetings and other activities

Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Sociology, Communications, Education, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Natural Sciences, Political Science or a related field
Experience: One (1) year of experience supporting program coordination, project management, contract management, public sector service delivery, or communications. Preference given for relevant experience in solid waste management and environmental fields.
Substitution: Associate degree in a preferred field of study above with three (3) years of relevant job experience in the preferred functions above
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School diploma, GED or equivalent
Experience: An equivalent combination of education and experience listed above to total five (5) or more years
Licensure: A valid Class D driver’s license is required.
