The City of Minnetonka is accepting applications for a full-time Natural Resources Manager. The primary objective of this position is to develop, implement, administer, and promote a comprehensive municipal natural resources program. This includes the following components: forestry, water resources, development site management, restoration of public lands, development reviews and requirements and public education on natural resource topics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university in water resource, environmental or natural resource sciences or closely related field or equivalent combination or education and work experience.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in a position directly related to the field.
  • One-year experience with budget management.
  • One-year experience in administering the Wetland Conservation Act.
  • One-year of supervisory experience.
  • A valid Minnesota driver’s license.
  • Experience in the development and dissemination of educational and instructional resources to the public.
  • A commitment to the organization’s Shared Values.

Desired Qualifications

  • One-year experience managing components of a MS4 permit.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in water resource, environmental or natural resource sciences or closely related field.
  • Three years of natural resource management including all principles of study; forestry, water resources, prairie ecosystems environmental planning, and education and outreach or other relevant experience.
  • Three years of supervisory experience.
  • Interdisciplinary professional certifications such as certified arborist, tree inspector certification, certified wetland delineator, certified erosion control inspector and ability to obtain a Minnesota Pesticide and Herbicide Applicators License.

This position is a non-union position with the following 2019 compensation range: $94,139.00 – $104,599.00

*Yearly cost of living adjustment (COLA) and market adjustments may be in addition to the above listed salary step increases. Step increases may occur after six months, one year, two years, and three years from date of hire. Starting step based on experience & qualifications.

**This position may also be eligible for a yearly departmental MERIT payment of 2.5% of gross wages after one year of hire per personnel policy guidelines.
