Event Description:

 Join us for a fun evening with your friends and learn about the upcoming World Ranger Congress (WRC). Refreshments will be served, including hors d’ouevres, wine, beer, water and soft drinks.

The 2016 World Ranger Congress is the Eighth World Ranger Congress sponsored by the International Ranger Federaton. It is being organized by the Association of National Park Rangers, one of the 60 ranger groups affiliated with the International Ranger Federation, as part of the Centennial Anniversary celebration of the National Park Service. It will be held in Estes Park, CO from May 21-27, 2016.

Rangers and experts representing national parks and protected areas around the globe will gather to learn from each other and discuss strategies on mitigating the effects of climate change, loss of species diversity, poaching and other challenges for resource managers worldwide. The 2016 World Ranger Congress will focus on connecting parks, rangers, and communities. For more information, please visit www.worldrangercongressusa.com

For this special event, Superintendent Bob Krumenaker from Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, World Ranger Congress Executive Director, will be on hand to talk about the World Ranger Congress with time for questions and discussion. Other special invited guests include Superintendent Chris Stein from St. Croix National Scenic Riverway; Superintendent John Anfinson from the Mississippi National River & Recreation Area; St. Croix River Association Executive Director Deb Ryun; Mississippi River Fund Executive Director Katie Nyberg; Peter Gove, Board Member of Friends of the Mississippi River & the St. Croix River Association; and Christine Goepfert, Upper Midwest Program Director for the National Parks Conservation Association. Senator Amy Klobuchar and Representative Betty McCollum have also been invited.

Cost:
