Generously hosted by the Radisson Blu Mall of America, the University of Minnesota Department of Entomology Bee Lab, including Drs. Marla Spivak and Dan Cariveau, graduate students, scientists and the Bee Squad, will come together to provide an evening of free bee education. The State of the Bees 2016 will be an opportunity for you to learn about the latest in honey bee and wild bee research and how you can support bees.

Dr. Marla Spivak- MacArthur Fellow and Distinguished McKnight University Professor of Apiculture and Social Insects, Dr. Dan Cariveau, Assistant Professor of Community and Landscape Ecology of Native Bees and Restoration Ecology, Gary Reuter, Dr. Mike Goblirsch, Ph.D. Candidate Elaine Evans, Ph.D. student Morgan Carr-Markell, Dr. Renata Borba, MS student Ian Lane.
2016 Bee Squad programs including Hive to Bottle, Mentoring Apiary, Bee Veterans and Bee Arts will be highlighted and information about volunteer opportunities at the Horst M. Rechelbacher Pollinator Project Farm and Plant Seeds to Save the Bees will be available.
Tickets are free, but pre-registration is required. Donations welcome at the door. Silent Auction will be held at the event. Cash bar and light appetizers available.
