Organizer Roundtable: Connecting Climate Change to Equitable Regional Development

June 19, 2013 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Are you an organizer who is concerned about neighborhood livability? Are you in economic development and troubled over the price and availability of food? Are you a housing advocate who is worried about the high cost of energy? Are you a public health person who is concerned about the effects of extreme heat? If you are, you are not alone. Many organizers and activists are working on these issues, all of which are exacerbated by the effects of climate change. An environmental justice frame allows us to look at the connections between these issues and at how climate change will impact lower income communities and communities of color in particular.

Join us for our next Organizer Roundtable! Presenters will share how they are adapting climate justice strategies to build an equitable Twin Cities region. Be a part of the conversation to find out how organizers are cutting through the jargon to talk about climate change in a way that makes sense to communities, organizations and agencies.

Organizer Roundtables are free but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided, feel free to bring your lunch!
