Renewing the Countryside is looking for volunteers for our Healthy Local Food Exhibit at this years MN State Fair! Each year we bring in chefs, local farmers and food makers, and work to get the word out about local food. All volunteers receive free admission to the Fair and an organic cotton, healthy food t-shirt. Plus you get to spend time spreading the word about local food!

About volunteering: Shifts are 3.5 hours long, ranging from 9am to 7:30pm, August 24th – September 4th, 2017. Shifts available are: 9am-12:30pm; 12:30pm-4pm; and 4pm-7:30pm. During your shift you will be helping out with kids activities, helping guest chefs and samplers to prep and pass out food samples, and greeting visitors who enter the exhibit.

About the Exhibit
Healthy Local Food (HLF) is an exhibit within the Eco Experience, a collaborative effort of many organizations to promote a healthy, green, organic lifestyle. The Eco Experience draws over 300,000 visitors per year and is one of the most popular stops at the fair.  Visitors to HLF learn about and taste the best fare at the fair – from organic chocolate milk to MN grown apples; artisan cheeses to locally farmed trout. In addition to samples from local farmers, visitors enjoy three daily cooking demos featuring local chefs creating amazing dishes using local and seasonal ingredients.

Feel free to send an email to Zoe Craig zoe@rtcinfo.org with any questions or concerns – we hope to see you at the Fair!
