Ensia Live: Energy Expert Peggy Liu

Featuring a performance by the Twin Cities Women’s Choir

According to the Worldwatch Institute, China’s “technological advances, aggressive policies, and a strong financial position” have led to a renewable energy expansion that it far outpacing nearly every other country in the world today—including the United States. In this thought-provoking presentation Peggy Liu, co-founder of the nonprofit energy organization JUCCCE, will share her thoughts on China’s massively expanding energy infrastructure, the next phase of renewable energy development in China, and what it all means for the future of global energy production and climate negotiations. She’ll also touch on topics including reimagining prosperity, reframing sustainability and reshaping consumerism in the Far East. The evening’s events will begin with a vocal performance by members of the Twin Cities Women’s Choir.
