Attend a meeting in Minnetonka with Senator Terri Bonoff and Representative John Benson!

March 9, 2013 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Enjoying Minnesota’s Great Outdoors is part of our way of life. Your state leaders have an opportunity to build a clean energy economy and protect our cherished environment today and for generations to come.

Join the Minnesota Environmental Partnership, a coalition of environmental nonprofits, for a meeting with Sen. Terri Bonoff and Rep. John Benson to discuss the importance of protecting Minnesota’s environment. Topics include:

  • Solar Works for Minnesota – For their health and their children’s future, Minnesotans want clean, Minnesota-made renewable energy.  Making it happen will help our economy and create thousands of jobs.
  • Address Runoff Pollution for Clean Water Accountability – 40% of Minnesota waters tested are polluted, mostly (86%) by non-point pollution (runoff).  To focus Clean Water funds most effectively, water clean-up plans must clearly identify and prioritize the sources of runoff, and include specific goals and firm timelines for action.
  • Build Transit for a Stronger Economy – Completing and expanding metro and Greater Minnesota transit systems is a good investment, and will yield cleaner air, improved public health, long-term reductions in traffic, and 30,000 jobs, as well as help the elderly, students, and people with disabilities get to school, work, or wherever they need to go.

This is an excellent opportunity to discuss these important issues with your legislators.
