Aqua per Capita

May 17, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Aqua per Capita is an outdoor, interactive theater experience that explores the relationship of population to water use and carrying capacity.

Aqua per Capita is led by Jonee Kulman Brigham of Full Spring Studio, LLC in collaboration with Climb Theater, with production and technical support by John Crampton, and financial support from the Bush Lake Chapter – Izaak Walton League of America.

The event explores water per person (aqua per capita) through playful interactions with water involving collecting, carrying, pouring, balancing, pumping, spraying, dividing, and sharing. Participants enter the world of a water play, engaging with actors and a story of place—past, present, and future. The play explores both local and global contexts, looking at historical, current, and projected relationships between population and water in Bloomington as well as global issues of population, water quality, and water access. While playful, Aqua per Capita aims to address serious issues by building empathy and understanding through first hand, social, physical and sensory experience. Resources for learning and acting on local and global population and water issues will be provided.
