Given the current COVID situation, we’ve decided to hold our annual fall celebration fully online again this year. Please register to participate in our program and bid in our river-themed auction. We’ll share the livestream link and full list of auction items closer to the event.
There’s no fee to register, though we will encourage giving during the program. Funds raised will protect, restore and enhance the Mississippi River and its watershed in the Twin Cities region.
We hope you’ll join us virtually from the comfort of your home for An Evening Celebrating the Mississippi River: Our Healing River, the Big River’s biggest night. As we live through one of the most challenging times in recent memory, we’re eager to celebrate the myriad ways in which the river heals.
It’s no surprise that here, in a place known for its waters, the past year has brought record numbers of local residents to the river to find peace, seek rejuvenation and connect with others in a time of distancing.
The evening will showcase a curated selection of healing river stories told by those who lived them. Register now to receive a sneak peek from our storytellers in late September.
Our program will be helmed once again by Miss Shannan Paul and will also feature updates on Friends of the Mississippi River’s work and interactive opportunities for event participants to support our critical mission.
This year our river-themed auction returns with opportunities to explore the Twin Cities and beyond. From an in-home dinner for six prepared by renowned Minneapolis-based, James Beard Award-winning food writer Beth Dooley to a choose-your-own-river-tour adventure with John Anfinson, historian, author and former superintendent of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Plus, we’ll have opportunities for you and your family to retreat to a lakefront cabin in Alexandria, relax in a Vail condo or find peace in the north woods. You could be one of the lucky winners this year, so don’t miss out. Stay tuned for updates and the full slate of items!
If you’re unable to join us on September 30, please consider supporting us with a donation online. The generosity of our community of river supporters makes our work possible. Thank you!
