Mercury-Free Minnesota

Mercury pollution is a serious problem.  All of Minnesota's lakes and rivers are contaminated with mercury.  Mercury is a potent neurotoxin that causes learning and developmental disabilities in children.  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently reported that one in ten women of childbearing age have mercury in their bodies at levels that may adversely affect their unborn child.
Mercury-Free Minnesota is working with government agencies, legislators, industries and the public to phase-out harmful mercury emissions in Minnesota.  Follow the links on the left to find out more about us and how you can help to make Minnesota Mercury-Free!
