Natural Innovations is proud to present the following speaker forum.
“Extensive scientific evidence demonstrates that global warming is real, that it is affecting us now, and that human activities—particularly the burning of fossil fuels—are the primary cause. Science is also clear about what we need to do to address the problem: immediately and significantly reduce emissions of the pollutants that cause global warming.” U.S. PIRG, the federation of state Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs)
Okay, so we know that global warming is here, and that it has worldwide impact, but what does it mean for our area? What’s happening? What could happen? And what can we do about it? Come hear J. Drake Hamilton, Science Policy Director from Fresh Energy and Gregg Hoch, Biology Professor from Concordia College as they answer these questions and more. While the climate change issue is critical, the message you’ll hear is one of hope and empowerment. Come learn what effective actions individuals, communities, businesses, and government leaders can take to fight global warming.
Time for questions and answers will be provided, along with opportunity for networking. For more information, visit www.naturalinnovations.org, email ni@lakesnet.net or call 218.847.0025. Natural Innovations is a collaborative effort of U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, and citizen volunteers. Natural Innovations, because one thing leads to another.
The event is free and all are invited. Refreshments provided.
