Clean Water Action is a national, grassroots environmental organization that seeks to protect the environment and safeguard public health, promote passage of strong environmental laws, and help communities address local environmental problems affecting them. Clean Water Action has close to 1 million members nationally. Clean Water Fund provides research, education, organizing, and technical assistance to strengthen grassroots environmental efforts around the country, promoting the public interest on issues related to water, natural resources, health, and a healthy economy.  Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund work together on selected campaigns and programs. 

Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund are seeking an Office Manager for our Minneapolis, MN office to provide administrative support to our phone and field canvass teams and program staff. This is a full-time, hybrid position and benefits eligible. As an office manager you will be assisting the phone canvass, field canvass, and program teams in a variety of ways.

Responsibilities

General

  • Maintain office appearance; light cleaning and organizing. 
  • Maintain computers and printers; back-up files; follow-up to get technical support when needed.
  • Process information requests from the public and refer to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Canvass

  • Data Entry and reporting 
  • Answer incoming calls; screen prospective applicants for canvass positions, schedule qualified applicants for interviews with the Canvass Director; take messages for program staff.
  • Coordinate all recruitment activities with Canvass Director including campus outreach and recruitment, ad placement, career fairs and other recruitment outreach.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly canvass reports.
  • Maintain personnel files and track staff benefits accrual and use.
  • Assist with fundraising event planning and other development work. 
  • Assist with communications work including maintaining our presence on social media. 
  • Stock canvass materials and order office supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program

  • Provide programmatic administrative support including processing checks and donations.
  • Assist with grant administration.
  • Manage the grant allocations process and submit monthly to the finance team.
  • Submit all purchase authorizations and check requests to the finance team. 
  • Track all unrestricted funds for a monthly report. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Confident oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Google docs.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
  • Detail-oriented, accurate and neat; with strong math/finance skills and personal organization.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, adaptability, team player.
  • Experience working with finance programs, grants, allocations, and budgets desired. 
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is desired.
  • Experience working with databases a plus.
  • Experience with environmental and/or public health campaigns a plus.
  • Applicants must reside in the Minneapolis, MN area.
  • Ability to travel to the office in a hybrid schedule for in-person collaboration.
  • Candidates must have reliable and high-speed internet connectivity at their home
