On  March 9, 2015  a bill (HF 1534/SF1537) was introduced to the Minnesota Legislature regarding riparian buffers in Minnesota.  The proposal is intended to result in greater protection of our waters from polluted runoff and increase wildlife habitat.  There are many questions about the proposal as well as ideas on how it could be modified.  To help answer questions and give a venue for offering suggestions the Cannon River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) and the Dakota/Rice County Corn & Soybean Growers are hosting a forum on this buffer proposal.   The event is free and open to the public.  Governor Dayton is planning to attend to hear feedback regarding this proposal.
